Let’s Sew in Evansville, Indiana, along with store owner LaQuinta Schum, are donating a Janome M6 as an Event-Wide Grand Prize for the 2025 All Indiana Shop Hop. Let’s Sew wants to empower sewing and quilting enthusiasts to create. They believe the Janome M6 features are a blessing to any sewist or quilter. Why the Janome M6?
- The Janome Continental M6 (MSRP $6999) is made of Janome’s exclusive all-metal casting for durability.
- A brushless, 12-core DC motor offers piercing power and provides speeds up to 1300 SPM.
In December 2011, LaQuinta Schum transformed her passion for sewing into a fashion fabric and quilt showroom designed to fulfill the needs of the modern sewist. Her vision began as a series of introductory and advanced sewing classes under the “Sew So Lovely” banner. When the opportunity arose to expand into more than a 11,000 square feet of floor space, she seized it. She also planned and developed letssew.com as a diverse and fabulous website.
LaQuinta has worked hard to surround herself with friendly, knowledgeable people that share her vision. She has chosen staff with critical common interests in sewing and creating with fabric, but with a stunning diversity of skill sets and specialties. LaQuinta also mentors young people coming into the business and partners with experienced veterans looking for someplace to express their skills.
LaQuinta set out to stock her showroom with the best array of fabric and accessories available. The store was planned with both the local and global sewing community in mind. The floor is stocked with a staggering selection of fabrics. This is a place where seamstresses, quilters, designers, and 4-H kids can touch, handle, and get a feel for the fabric they truly wanted. Her dedication to diverse inventory has filled the showroom and website with a priceless catalog of textiles for the sewist.
Thousands of other products stock the shelves – from exquisite trims to a wide selection of sewing notions. One entire section of wall is dedicated to nothing but row upon row of buttons. A strategic partnership with Baby Lock, Elna, and Janome has made Let’s Sew the only authorized dealer in Evansville for these brands.
Even with all these wonderful things, it’s the people that have really helped LaQuinta build Let’s Sew into something truly special. Old friends and new have come together to share creativity and encourage each other to pursue new projects. While Let’s Sew and letssew.com started out as LaQuinta’s visions, more and more people have come to share it.
